Biography

Dr. Ismaila Oloyede Orire is an Associate Professor and currently the Ag. Head of Department, Geography and Environmental Mgt. Faculty of Social Sciences. He was the Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator (2017-2023); Current Chairman, Faculty Postgraduate Ethical Research Committee. Also served as Level Adviser, Fieldwork Coordinator, and Students’ Staff Adviser among others. He started his academic career in the University of Ilorin, Ilorin in 2008 as Assistant Lecturer. He obtained his Ph.D. Degree (Geography) in 2015 at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He also obtained a Master and Bachelor Degrees in Geography from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria in 2005 and 2000. He has published over 30 research papers in revered journals and books. Dr. Orire is a member of the Association of Nigerian Geographers, Nigerian Environmental Society and Society for the Conservation and Resource Management of Phytofuels and Allied Sciences. He has supervised many Ph.D. and M.Sc. theses in Geography.
